What makes Bodypop's sugaring paste different from regular waxing?
Unlike traditional waxing, Bodypop's sugar paste is made only from sugar, water, and lemon juice – without synthetic chemicals, resins, or artificial fragrances. It is gentler on the skin, easier to clean, and safe to use on sensitive areas. Additionally, hairs are removed in the direction of hair growth, which reduces pain and the risk of ingrown hairs.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Yes! Bodypop's formula is designed to be extra gentle. It contains no harsh additives, perfumes or preservatives, making it ideal for sensitive skin and delicate areas like the face and bikini line.
Is the sugar paste environmentally friendly?
Yes. It consists only of natural ingredients – sugar, water, and lemon juice – without microplastics or synthetic chemicals.
Is the packaging recyclable?
Yes. Both the container and the lid can be recycled as plastic. Rinse out any residue before discarding.
Is sugar paste safe for allergy sufferers?
Yes. It contains only sugar, water, and lemon juice. Please test on a small skin area first if you have allergies or very sensitive skin.
How do I prevent ingrown hairs after treatment?
Gently exfoliate your skin 2–3 times a week after treatment. This keeps pores open and prevents hair from growing inwards.
Can I use the sugar paste if I am a man?
Yes. The product is suitable for both women and men, and works equally well on coarser hair types.
Do I have to warm up the sugar paste before use?
No heating required! Our paste is designed to be used at body temperature, so there is no risk of burns or irritation from hot wax.
What areas of the body can I use it on?
You can safely use it on your legs, arms, underarms, face, bikini line and basically your entire body.
How long should your hair be before sugaring?
For best results, your hair should be 5 mm long. This allows the sugar paste to get a good grip on the hairs without pulling the skin.
Can I use sugar paste after shaving?
Wait until the hair has grown out again, usually 10–14 days after shaving. The hairs should be at least 5 mm long before treatment.
Can I use sugar paste if I have sensitive or damaged skin?
Avoid use on sunburned, irritated, or damaged skin, as well as over varicose veins, open pimples, or warts. Wait until the skin is fully healed before performing treatment.
How often can I perform sugaring?
Usually every 3–6 weeks, depending on how fast the hair grows and how the skin reacts.
How long do the results last?
You can enjoy smooth skin for up to 6 weeks. With regular use, hair may grow back finer and slower over time.
Does it hurt?
Some discomfort is normal with all hair removal methods, but sugaring is often considered less painful than waxing. Plus, our formula sticks to the hair, not living skin, which helps reduce irritation.
Can I use the product while pregnant?
Yes, it's fine to use sugaring paste during pregnancy. Hormonal changes can make the skin more sensitive, so it might be a good idea to test on a small area first to ensure your skin reacts normally.
Do I need to use anything before or after treatment?
Cleanse the skin thoroughly before application, preferably with a mild product. Light exfoliation 24–48 hours prior can lead to a more even result. After treatment, avoid hot baths, exercise, sunbathing, deodorant, and swimming pools for the first 24 hours. Apply a mild moisturizer to soothe the skin.
What do I do if the sugar paste gets too soft or too hard?
If the paste becomes too soft during application, add a little more from the jar to regain the correct consistency. If it is too hard, gently warm it in your hands before use. Use a nitrile glove for better grip and hygiene.
Is it easy to clean?
Yes! Our sugar paste is water-soluble. Any residue left on the skin or tools can be easily rinsed off with warm water.
How many treatments do I get from one box?
A 300g tub is sufficient for several treatments, depending on the area you are treating, hair density, and the chosen method.
-
Use with strips: Usually requires more product, as the paste is applied thinner and removed with paper or fabric strips.
- Manual technique: Provides better control and longer lasting results, because the same lump can be used multiple times during the treatment.
For best use of the product, maintain the correct working temperature and use good technique.
How should I store the sugar paste?
Store at room temperature with the lid tightly closed. Avoid direct sunlight and high heat to maintain consistency.
How long does the product last after opening?
Sugar paste has a long shelf life and can be used for up to 12 months after opening, as long as it is stored correctly.
-
Storage: Keep the lid tightly closed and avoid direct sunlight and heat.
- Crystallization: If the paste is left unused for a long time, the sugar may crystallize. This is completely normal, and the product is still safe to use. Crystallization usually disappears when you warm the paste lightly in your hands before use.
